Wind disn't look as good as was promised when Impi and I wandered across for a look but as Steve arrived we all headed over and rigged up. Steve and Impi had a couple of goes with their 5.8m sails and couldn't get going. I had my kit rigged but stood chatting with Ben and watching Impi and Steve struggling.

In the end I gave it a go as well with my 5.6m sail and managed to get out the back where there was enough wind and so stayed out there for a while. This prompted Ben to rig as well and when he got on the water he was well powered and having a good time.... What I didn't know until later was that he had rigged a 6.2m sail and a bigger board!

Steve and Impi were still struggling to get going so changed to bigger boards which didnt really help. Steve managed to get going once or twice, but Impi had a bad day and went home a little dejected with it all.

I had an OK sail with some decent jumps and some nice wave rides, but nothing too spectacular and I have to admit that on most runs out through the waves I elt lucky to get out as there just wasn't quite enough wind so getting planing and staying planing within the impact zone was difficult. I was glad not to have too many big swims too.

As usual a little more wind would have been nice.

Ben then locked his keys in his van and had to wait for a couple of hours for the recovery people to arrive so we sat in the living room watching windsurf videos with Ben wearing some of my clothes!
